Penang Event: International Meatless Day Carnival 2007

Penang Event: International Meatless Day Carnival 2007
Date : 18 Nov 2007 - Sun
Time : -
Venue : Esplanade

The event's organising chairman Pishu Murli Hassaram said 100 different types of non-meat food and refreshments would be served that day.

A Visit Malaysia Year 2007 programme, the carnival would also promote vegetarianism and Penang as a vegetarian paradise, he said.

“There will also be a counselling corner for vegetarians and they can get expert advice on modifying their diet to make sure they get all the nutrients they need.

“Tourists who are vegetarians will be happy to know that they will not go hungry when they come to Penang because we have many vegetarian restaurants.

“We are expecting about 3,000 to 5,000 people to come to the carnival,” he said in a press conference in Penang.

This year’s carnival will also be raising RM50,000 for Seri Cahaya Welfare Home, Sadhu Vaswani Welfare Fund and Pure Lotus of Hospice of Compassion. Tickets are at RM10 per book.

The carnival, which is organised by the Malaysian Meatless Day Campaign Commitee with the support of Tourism Penang, will be held in Jalan Padang Kota Lama in front of the City Hall from 10am to 3pm.
There will be about 40 stalls. Registrations for the stalls are still open.

  1. There are several Hermes handbags that are sold for really low prices. However, it does not mean that all of these are fakes. There are also some that are offered for less because they are outdated. The difference of a real from the sham is that the former does not have a hangtag made from paper. Also high quality materials should be selected to ensure the same visual appearance.
